My Teaching Philosophy
As a teacher, I believe that it is important to understand that each student has their own individual needs. As each student has their own needs, they all need their own type of education. I feel there is an importance to utilizing different teaching strategies to reach each individual student's needs.
I believe in the importance of problem-based learning. Students should be able to use inquiry skills to learn new knowledge about a topic they find interesting. My favourite part of problem-based learning is the ability to incorporate different concepts within the curriculum.
My goal for myself is to have a classroom where each student feels comfortable and that their learning needs are being met. I believe that the best way for students to feel comfortable is through a community with lots of resources available. As students are proven to learn best in a comfortable environment, my classroom should foster a community-like feeling.
